Under the pseudonym Emulsión there is Nathan Koch, a youngster from New York that moved around various cities until he arrived to Chicago, where he lives now. Deep in the city scene as a dj or employed in record labels, he ended placing all his experience in a very complete project –almost 80’s-ish- in which melody masters the whole. In 2006 he released “Blue Sky Objetive” which established his sound. It contained a collection of electronic pop themes, higly emotive melodies, pure bases and certain toches of electro that make it look like 8 bits music.
Something similar could be said of this reference that Nathan presents for Fluidos. In “A Long String Unwinding” we find all what could be heard in his previous recording and with the same inspiration and quality. Sounds that join him with the works of Isan o Casino Vs Japan in its sounds (despite his limited resources) and its projection, although he uses much less elements during their composition. That is: a bass line, a synth waving through the track, and occasional beats, are all the components most of the times, the trick of the trade being –as in everything- the way one uses them. He is always right, and as it is said, when thing are made with effort and passion, always end well, and what we can ask of someone who lives so devoted that declares: “I’m deeply immersed in electronic music. I love writing and composing. I love spinning the music I want and show it to the people…”
