I’m doing a tag-team DJ set with Liz Revision as an opening set for Tycho on February 23rd at Millennium Park in Chicago, as part of Chicago’s “Museum of Modern Ice” chill-out series.
Relax and enjoy the sounds of electronic and acoustic musicians and related visuals projected on the Ice Max Theater. Tonight, Jonah Sharp and Tycho perform with visuals provided by Video Janitor and ISO50. Recording extensively as Spacetime Continuum, Edinburgh, Scotland native Jonah Sharp is an ambient music innovator. He helped define the ’90s with his soon to be revived Reflective Records imprint and its original sound of global experimental ambient and techno scene fusion. As Tycho, San Francisco based artist and producer Scott Hansen blends swirling melodies into vaguely triumphant arcs that criss cross between stuttering beats and vocal sampling, creating rolling sonic landscapes that extend off into the horizon. Ramp Chicago djs between sets.
I recommend getting more information from the Museum of Modern Ice website, and RSVP ASAP (it’s free!) at 312.742.TIXS.
